Who, What, Where, WHY?
When I was 15 years old, I was blessed with an opportunity to travel to Haiti for my first ever mission trip. Strangely, I feel in love with travel and sharing Gods grace - but left with a sense of urgency. I needed to do more.
Fast forward 6 years, I am an intern with a medical missions company, jumping at every opportunity I get to join a team in order to help others any way I can. Now… I am sharing my stories.
MEET ME
Matti Griffor
Intern, Heartfire Missions
After graduating Michigan State University Fall of 2023 with a degree in Nutritional Sciences, I quickly moved to Scottsdale, Arizona for an internship with Heartfire. Here, I learn all aspects of nonprofit and mission planning, and fortunately get to attend trips of my choosing (based on a stipend & fundraising). I am so incredibly passionate about all things medicine, travel, and the lord above.

What do I do on trips?
# 1 —
Medical Care
Depending on what medical team joins our trip- we see medical care of all kind! ENT surgery, village medicine, pediatrics, etc.
# 2 —
Education
Teaming up with universities like Baylor and Clemson- often we are fortunate to teach science in the schools. We bring materials and have lesson plans for 3rd-6th grade classes.
# 3 —
Humanitarian
This ranges from home visits to physically building beds for community members, each time more and more meaningful.
# 4 —
Slush Fund
Any extra money fundraised throughout our team, we are able to bless families we feel are in extreme need.
